Terms of Service

1. Agreement to Terms

By accessing or using Remi ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. By using Remi, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age.

2. Service Description

Remi is an AI-powered service that scans your email for delivery confirmations, identifies return deadlines, and sends you reminders before your return windows expire. Remi accesses your Gmail or Outlook inbox with read-only permissions via OAuth. We do not store the full content of your emails — only the metadata necessary to identify and track return deadlines.

3. Account & Authentication

You authenticate with Remi via OAuth through Google or Microsoft. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials. Each person may maintain only one Remi account. You agree to provide accurate information and to notify us promptly of any unauthorised use of your account.

4. Subscription & Billing

Remi is offered as a paid subscription service at $4.99 per month or $19.99 per year, billed via Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew at the end of each billing period unless cancelled. You may cancel at any time through your account settings; your access will continue through the end of the current billing period. No refunds are issued for partial billing periods. We will provide at least 30 days' notice before any price changes take effect.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws.
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service, other accounts, or our systems.
• Use automated means (bots, scrapers, scripts) to access the Service without our prior written consent.
• Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service.
• Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service.

6. Intellectual Property

Remi and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by Remi and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You retain all rights to your personal data and email content. These Terms do not grant us any rights to your data beyond what is necessary to provide the Service.

7. AI & Accuracy Disclaimer

Remi uses artificial intelligence to parse email metadata and identify return deadlines. While we strive for accuracy, AI parsing is provided on a best-effort basis. Return policies, deadlines, and terms vary by retailer and may change without notice. You should always verify return deadlines independently before relying on them. Remi is not liable for any missed returns, expired deadlines, or financial losses resulting from inaccurate or incomplete information provided by the Service.

8. Privacy

Your use of Remi is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes how we collect, use, and protect your personal data. By using the Service, you consent to the practices described in our Privacy Policy.

9. Data Portability & Deletion

You may export your data at any time through your account settings. If you request account deletion, all personal data associated with your account will be permanently removed within 30 days. Aggregated, anonymised data that cannot be traced back to you may be retained indefinitely.

10. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by law, Remi's total liability to you for any claims arising from or related to the Service is limited to the total amount of fees you paid to Remi in the 12 months preceding the claim. In no event shall Remi be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of profits, data, or goodwill.

11. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless Remi and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, losses, or expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with your misuse of the Service or violation of these Terms.

12. Termination

Either party may terminate this agreement at any time. You may cancel your subscription and delete your account through your settings. We may suspend or terminate your access immediately if you violate these Terms or engage in conduct that we reasonably believe is harmful to other users, us, or third parties. Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately.

13. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Washington, USA, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be resolved in the courts located in King County, Washington.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, your rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) are preserved and nothing in these Terms limits those rights. If you are located in Australia, your rights under the Australian Privacy Act 1988 are preserved.

14. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. For material changes, we will provide at least 30 days' notice via email before the changes take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your subscription.
